Improving your social media efforts starts with being able to measure. Radian6 offers a great service for not only measuring but managing the follow-ups necessary to build community. At a simpler level, the overview here on building an RSS dashboard is a great start.

Hi Matt,
Thanks very much for the shoutout. And we're big fans of telling businesses that if they can't or don't want to start with us, that's okay! Start somewhere, because listening is really that crucial in the social communications space.
I love the Netvibes suggestion to pipe in RSS feeds from different search sites; iGoogle and Yahoo Pipes are other helpful tools that can do the same kind of thing.
Thanks again,
Amber Naslund

Thanks for the shout out Matt. Yes, definitely great advice about just getting started. I spoke with a group today just learning about this and that was my main point. Customers are "calling" brands on the social phone now and it's up to companies to pick up the phone and simply say "how can I help" as a great place to start.
Great stuff. David
