Matt is the Director of Global Sales and Field Marketing for Windows Azure, Microsoft’s new cloud computing platform launching in November 2009. In this role he is responsible for global sales strategy and marketing programs executed through Microsoft teams in 85 worldwide subsidiaries. As part of the Windows Azure Product Marketing Group he and his team look to understand how Microsoft’s customers are adopting cloud computing, and work to align Microsoft’s product offerings, sales and technical teams to support these needs.
Prior to this role, Matt was responsible for all marketing functions of Dell’s After Point of Sale business in the United States and Latin America. As part of the senior leadership team for the business, Matt led strategic planning, and management of marketing and online activities that supported all Dell customer segments in the United States and Latin America. The business generated over $1B in revenue and was the highest growth and most profitable business at the firm. At Commemorative Brands Matt managed an IT team of developers and architects building configuration software that was utilized by leading e-commerce retailers as well as custom web site development for a variety of consumer products. He was also responsible for product planning and customer marketing of education software products.
In 2007 Matt was elected to the Board of Directors for the Military Child Education Coalition, a global non-profit focused on supporting the 2 million children of United States military personnel. As chair of the marketing committee, Matt oversees the organization’s brand and public relations staff as well as a network of agencies. MCEC has been recognized by former First Lady Laura Bush and governors across the country for its efforts to improve the education opportunities for military children. The organization is recognized as the leading resource for military children and is regularly sought out by government leaders, national media and military families. Military Child has been recognized by the United States Congress as the Congressional Club Charity of the Year and designated one of the "Best in America" by the ICA.
Matt is a former member of the Baylor University Business Network board of directors, and taught brand and advertising strategy in Baylor University Hankammer School of Business executive MBA program. Matt has a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master of business administration degree from Baylor University.
Matt, his wife and daughter live in the Seattle Washington area.
